Tap offshore oil by drilling at a slant “Directional Drilling according to Wikipedia is already being done three miles off of England, and the technology is being increased at a rapid rate. Instead of Obama arguing with Palin, with McCain sometimes agreeing with Palin about drilling offshore and in wildlife preserves, we can have a united country working for a better resource policy like back when Roosevelt united the nation toward conserving and recycling resources and stopping the last depression. By the way if we all unite to Fax, Mail and Email the UN, and some of us marching to Ki-moons UN office with "stop" tee-shirts complaining in the lack of UN oversight involving the efforts to create a mini Black Hole, we may only have a million to one chance to save the earth from immediate destruction, but we may delay the future production of doomsday weapons until the human race can come to its senses. The Hadron Collider is a 28 mile racetrack under the Alps to try to glimpse at the forces that began the universe. The experiment is now supposed to be attempted again next spring. Some Christians and Hindu Fundamentalists are particularly worried. If people like Governor Palin start worrying about this, it might stop her from being tempted to hurry Armageddon to try to hurry Christ's return. See directional drilling Wikipedia,

In the above blog post I
Submitted by RichardKanePA-2 on October 14, 2008 - 3:17am.In the above blog post I didn’t state what UN input to whether scientists should take a million to one chance of destroying the world and far bigger chance at hastening the development of dooms day teasing weapons, has to do with directional oil drilling.
The UN makes resolutions on land mines, middle east occupation, and genocide. So far having only somewhat successful input concerning discouraging genocide, since the US successfully defied the UN by refusing to remove US land mines on the Southern Korean border, facing Northern Korea.
Groups supporting reparation for Blacks march on the UN, but don’t respect the UN enough to email, fax and phone the UN first or invite Ban Ki-moon, the Secretary General, to a meeting at a local auditorium to discuss the matter. Groups do invite him to speak but so far not protest groups. See,

The first gulf war followed, Kuwait being accused of stealing Iraqi oil by directional drilling into Iraq.
In the future UN imposed fines could help preserve the peace, and after a conference on postponing delay of mini Black Hole research, the UN might successfully get the US to remove its land minds in Korea, and who knows what might come next, perhaps a world when Black Hole research leads to the possibility of doomsday flirting weapons, human kind will have advanced enough not to toy around in that direction.
