Snapshots from the Democratic National Convention in Denver:

Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer got a standing O for his earthy, plain and simple talk from Florida delegates, who hailed his defense of hard-working immigrants.

The man does not mince words, including about himself. "I'm a redneck with good ideas," Schweitzer said. "I'm the guy with cow---- on his boots and no bull---- in his speech."

"He's a breath of fresh air. He understands America is in trouble and that there's change in the air," said Jerry Hart, a plumber and pipefitter union official from Boynton Beach, Fla.

One of the more colorful -- literally -- members of the media was "Nuclia Waste," Denver's favorite drag queen. She was hired by 5280 magazine as the "Official Drag Queen Correspondent for the DNC."

Waste -- a.k.a. David Westman -- is a 6-foot figure sporting a green fright wig, four layers of makeup and three breasts. Not to mention boots with 5-inch heels.

John Paul DeLoria, founder of Paul Mitchell hair products, rated the tresses of the high-profile women at the convention.

Showing the instincts of a savvy politician, DeLoria said his wife, Eloise, ranked No. 1, as he stroked her blond locks.

"No. 2, Michelle Obama. No. 3, Chelsea Clinton. No. 4, the Obamas' older daughter (Malia). No. 5 Hillary (Clinton)," DeLoria said.
