Come meet my new friend John McCain

If you read this space, you knew this was coming. But even now that the odd-couple alliance between Ralph Reed and John McCain is complete, you still can’t believe that it’s true.

On Thursday afternoon, Republicans around Georgia received an invitation from Reed, who will serve as a host of a “special event” for McCain at the downtown Marriot Marquis on Aug. 18.

“John McCain believes in a strong national defense, a smaller, more accountable government, steady economic growth and opportunity, the dignity of life and traditional values,” wrote Reed, whose 2006 campaign for lieutenant governor sank under the weight of evidence detailing his relationship with Washington lobbyist Jack Abramoff — much of it uncovered by McCain’s Indian Affairs Committee.

I really didn't think it was possible to have a candidate which was WORSE THAN BUSH.....

However, John McCain has certainly shown that we could do a helluva lot worse than GW.

Think not? Well, McCain either can't keep his lies...oops I mean facts straight....or he is just a pathological liar.....Check this out

McCain Gets His Hamdan Facts Wrong

Responding to the decision, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) released a statement welcoming the guilty verdict:

The jury found that the prosecution lawyers had proven, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Hamdan had aided terrorists by supplying weapons to Al Qaeda and Taliban forces in Afghanistan. This process demonstrated that military commissions can effectively bring very dangerous terrorists to justice. The fact that the jury did not find Hamdan guilty of all of the charges brought against him demonstrates that the jury weighed the evidence carefully.

But McCain has his facts wrong when he claims Hamdan was found guilty of “supplying weapons to al Qaeda and Taliban forces in Afghanistan.” Though Hamdan was in possession of two shoulder-launched missiles when he was captured in Afghanistan, “the jury found him innocent of carrying the missiles as part of a conspiracy to kill U.S. soldiers.”

This guy, McSame, is totally UNFIT to be our POTUS!

Perhaps this explains why

Perhaps this explains why people of questionable stature like Abramoff & Associates and other lobbyists GALORE, LOVE and FULLY SUPPORT McSame.

Most companies in US avoid federal income taxes

Two-thirds of U.S. corporations paid no federal income taxes between 1998 and 2005, according to a new report from Congress.

The study by the Government Accountability Office, expected to be released Tuesday, said about 68 percent of foreign companies doing business in the U.S. avoided corporate taxes over the same period.

Collectively, the companies reported trillions of dollars in sales, according to GAO's estimate.

McSame has promised to make Bush's tax cuts for the Richest Americans PERMANENT and.....not only that but he promises to CUT CORPORATE TAXES!

Cut corporate taxes when less than 1/3 of the corporations are actually payting taxes. So if McSame becomes POTUS, less than 1/4 of the corporations will pay any taxes.

I guess that just leaves the Average Joe to pay ALL the taxes. That'right, the Average Citizen who is already facing the possibility of losing thier jobs, can't afford to buy a home, wondering how they are going to pay the rising costs of gas and groceries or send their kids to college, this Average Joe who will end up paying MORE TAXES in order to cover the steal and spend Republican Deficit spending.

Numbers of working poor increase

The number of low-income workers living in poor neighborhoods rose in 34 of 58 metro areas, mostly in the Northeast and Midwest, a study released Tuesday finds.
The economy played the largest role in concentrating poor workers in poor communities, a report by the Brookings Institution suggests.

"The people living in these communities are already at the margins," says Alan Berube, co-author of the report. "When things are booming, they get swept up in the growth, and when there's a downturn, they are the first to get affected."

Obviously McSame doesn't get this principle. McSame is not as bad as Bush, McSame is WORSE THAN Bush! Bush was born with that silver spoon in his mouth so he doesn't know any better. McSame married money so he SHOULD "understand the show".

So remember to re-elect Bush/McSame in 08! Giving all the tax breaks to Exxon and its executives while the rest of us struggle to get by!

UPDATE: In contrast to McSame's tax plan........

Obama's 'no income taxes on seniors'

If you're a senior citizen and make less than $50,000 a year, Barack Obama has a deal for you: the rest of your life free of federal income tax.

Oh yes, the Republicans and their surrogate mouthpieces will tell us It's a BAD idea BUT....it's a helluva lot better than cutting corporate taxes or giving ALL the tax breaks to the RICHEST Americans!

America's Middle Class Needs

America's Middle Class Needs Right to Bargain, Secure Contracts -- Like CEOs Have

We have allowed that soulless, unpatriotic global-corporate mindset to control government policy. As a result, the rich have gotten richer while the middle class has paid the bill and gone bankrupt. The great builder and protector of the middle class, collective bargaining, has been eroded by deliberate corporate actions over the past quarter century. Meanwhile, the national debt has increased; inflation and unemployment are up, and foreclosure signs mar every neighborhood.

Corporate lobbyists secured from compliant politicians so-called free trade agreements that have resulted in the loss of millions of good paying, often unionized manufacturing jobs. Those jobs have gone to third-world countries where investigations have shown workers often labor long, grueling hours and are not even paid their own countries' minimum wage. Then their products are shipped back to the U.S. to be sold at cheap prices at Wal-Mart by workers who are paid less than a living wage and are denied full-time status and health insurance.

He makes a very good point!
