While it's easy for people to 'put down' the concept of a national healthcare program, there is a lot of merit to have one. In the U.S. our Congress has "national healthcare". Why should they be the only ones under socialism? Why should businesses get a $700 BILLION government "bail-out" under socialism, while the rest of us have to live under capitalism and work our way out of debt?

Why should businesses get a $700 BILLION "bail-out" under socialism, while the rest of us have to live under capitalism and work our way out of debt? If we can spend $700 BILLION on a corporate "bail-out" that clearly is NOT going to bail-out corporations, we can spend $400 Billion for a national healthcare system for all Americans --- the same one Congress gets -- and we even can include the wealthy.

But no one wanted to see them and make corrections. Foreclosures are mushrooming in Austin and throughout Texas and the nation. http://www.statesman.com/business/content/business... For the past several years via my writing I tried to inform legislators and the public that we were entering into an economic recession and that home foreclosures were going to escalate at record levels. No one wanted to hear it and few agreed with me.

Clearly, a black man running for the presidency of the United States is NOT without a huge risk of assassination. The motives may be racial and/or political. Few people know that on August 24, 2008 three men were arrested, initially, for planning an assassination attempt on Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. While authorities captured 3 men who conspired to kill Obama, their activities were pronounced a low-level threat and the men were dismissed as merely drug addicts without any chance of succeeding in their effort. -

Are the claims of the candidates correct regarding their own records and proposals? Are they truthful about their opponent's record? Who is more accurate in referring to their own individual records and that of their opponent? You can checkout some of the points made at the 2nd debate here: http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/10/07/chec... P

FACT: The majority of Texans will vote McCain and Palin come Election Day. Look, I know I'm not part of the majority here in Texas who plan to vote for Senator John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin. But I am willing to work in the best interests of the American community and would consider voting for McCain if: o McCain drops Palin like a hot potato for another running mate

No one wants to point fingers for the reason our economy is in such a mess; however, taxpayers need to know the REAL reasons: o Bush administration short-sighted profit economics

No doubt that "Fate" plays a role in the lives of all of us. The Sarah Palin "pick" has had a chance to play out in our daily lives, but at what cost? If the McCain / Palin ticket wins in November, there is no doubt that Gov. Palin will encounter DC 'culture shock'. She also will be a literal "heartbeat" away from being the next U.S. president. This is scary stuff. Many women don't like Palin, in fact many hate her --- period. There is an interesting article in the Chicago Tribune on this issue

The Wall Street Journal has a reader poll to determine which candidate won the first debate and 57 percent voted for Obama. This was my reasoning for voting Obama:

"America, The Beautiful" Ain’t So Pretty Any More Once upon a time in America, there was a large working middle class and competition was good — but that was then, and this is now. I’ve been writing about the brutal American economy for the past seven years, since the Bush administration’s special interest budget and political power-plays began forcing more Americans to and below the poverty level. Finally, as America’s rulers are gaining vast wealth, they also are eliminating the remainder of America’s middle class.

Texas and Other States on the Road for Tolls Here in Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and House Speaker Tom Craddick Texas will get more toll roads even if they have to kill Texas taxpayers / drivers financially to do it. They are trying to finance toll roads from a new, 'creative' approach in taking tax dollars and retirement funds to ensure that their special interests make a fortune from toll roads. http://www.statesman.com/news/content/region/legis... This sort of "creative thinking" is a force throughout the U.S.

A "Bail-Out"? A Blank Check for AIG? Is Congress comprised of idiots? Do our legislators think we are stupid? Are taxpayers supposed to shoulder ALL of our government's screw-ups? Do corporations have the ability to divert their own accountability onto U.S. taxpayers? "HECK NO!"

Why vote for Obama? John McCain has had approximately 20 years of being a senator: however, where are those accomplishments as a legislator? More often than not McCain agreed with and voted for the Bush administration's bills and packages that have led us all to this unsteady point in history.

"We had to act quickly to resolve this issue." --- GWB BULL! Since when do Bush and Congress move quickly to resolve issues unless it benefits special interests? They moved quickly to deregulate certain industries, e.g., health care, electricity, higher education, etc. They moved quickly to increase overseas expenditures into the TRILLIONS, e.g., Iraq war and reconstruction.

Self-Fulfilling Prophecy: All a part of the irresponsible Bushian design Thanks to the Bush administration U.S. taxpayers have watched helplessly as TRILLIONS of their tax dollars were diverted to Iraq and other areas of the Mid-East in the first movement that brought BILLIONS in profits to wealthy special interests.
