Been away for awhile...mostly lurking on this page and others. I think that it's simply time to write again more than anything else. So much has happened since my last post to this blog....By the way Mr. Thompson, welcome back.

The is without a doubt one of the more inflammatory issues presently on the Court's docket, and within society as we know it today. Reading several articles on this subject today has brought me out of my quiet period of "lurking", and once again into expressing an opinion.

I can't help it. While it's true that Obama is far from the anointed grand pooh-bah just yet, I think that if he wins even half of the races remaining to run, he will be well and away to his first Presidential race. The fact that the man's politics, as well as those of the party that he's a member of, represent nothing good in my mind what so ever aside, I can't help it.

Well folks, I normally don't get into this issue with too many people out there, but I think it's time to stand up for what is right...so here we go. As we've all been aware, there have been an alarmingly increasing number of incidents involving the use of firearms by the deranged.

The muses for today's blog entry are several. For the most part, they are "snippets" of conversation, or comments of your own, gentle reader. Like most of the readers of Mr. Thompson's rant, (which I almost always thoroughly enjoy) I found comments to the same to be of great help in breaking a bit of writer's block, where gazing at the mist covered Blue Ridge mountains did not. (It usually does) Thank you all.

So while this circus of political clowns is busy entertaining the nation, Who's looking out for the Nation's business? Rather like hoards of colorfully dressed jesters of old, they parade before us. We watch, laugh, and cry at their antics...But what, if anything is going on in this country? The media has moved the tragedies of Afghanistan, and Iraq where our citizens continue to die in Bush's illegal and immoral war, to the side bars at best, at worst to the back pages.

I see that the Clintonistas are out of cash...No real surprise there. As far as I know, this woman still has (in common with Bill) literally millions of dollars in unpaid legal fees for the whole (still not prosecuted) Whitewater thing. Yet she can "loan" her campaign 5 million dollars. Let's consider this for a second here....FIVE MILLION DOLLARS is a slush fund for this woman in her attempts to get herself into the highest office in the land.

I will attempt to keep this one polite. Admittedly, it IS a hard thing to do when somebody threatens my rather humble living with more legalized theft of the fruits of my labor. This year I became self employed. It was a simple straight forward decision based on my inability to find a niche that I could stomach in corporate America's race for the buck above all else. In the last decade or so, I HAVE been quite successful in my dealings with corporate America...more than I had any expectation of ever being as a matter of fact...

Gentle readers of this blog, I apologize for what follows, but I was raised in a socialist country that practices a "form" of democracy. The results of which have left me with extremely strong feelings about the citizenry remaining free from the yolk of ANY level of government oversight of the lives of the ordinary citizen for ANY reason outside a compelling and justifiable criminal inquiry. I looked at a few other blogs this morning, and I (as usual) find myself getting a bit pissed off at the thought of big brother "outsourcing the illegal surveillance" of this county's citizens.

I just read an interesting article about Mexico's President attempting to come into this country, and influence American views pertaining to "rights" for Mexican workers in this country. Then I read the well stated and coherent reply by Bryan McClellan on January 24, 2008, and the lines:

This blog entry started as another blast at the political madness of our present age...and was going to attempt to find logic or damnation in the fact that those we elect spend more time (and more of our money) in the pi$$ing contests known as "the primary", than what they're being paid to do in the first place. I can't get serious today. I'm supposed to be getting ready to go to my next event. (We, my wife and I, are partially self employed) She's working hard, I feel guilty...mostly.

First and foremost, I'd like to say thanks to you Mr. Thompson for opening up your server space to this exercise in true Democracy. Next, I'd like to say that I, like many of you out there, am utterly fed up and sick to my stomach, with that band of flatulent cattle that purport to lead this Republic. Rather than giving into the strong urge of calling that band of thieves, even more names than I already have, I will try to hold a slightly higher road with the views and news that I express here. Again, thank you Mr. Thompson for this chance. So, to work.
