Yeah, we're back

Politics on the Half-Shell returns today after a weeklong absence caused by a problem when we tried to move Capitol Hill Blue to new servers.

Big mistake. A catastrophic hardware failure in the new equipment put Blue offline for nearly 12 hours. In the end, we had to restart our old servers, restore more than two terrabytes of data, add the new data from four days between the shutdown of the old servers, and change DNS settings.

So much for technology.

All of this came in the middle of one of the biggest debates in the history of our web site and we had to shut down comments during the changeover.

But we think all of that is fixed now. At least we hope so.

We'll finish up some fine tuning this weekend and then return in full-force on Monday.

One of the advantages of being small is I have no need for terrabytes of storage. Maybe I'm up to megabytes.

Glad you have most of the glitches ironed out. Really missed you.
