This dog don't hunt

February 16, 2006 06:03 AM / The Rant .

By DOUG THOMPSON

Vice President Dick Cheney's half-hearted public acknowledgment of responsibility for shooting a friend in a hunting "accident" last Saturday highlights a growing rift between President George W. Bush and the man many believe actually runs the government of the United States.

Cheney's hastily-arranged interview with the Bush-friendly Fox News Channel came only after an angry President Bush ordered his recalcitrant Vice President to try and undo the damage of four days of silence on the shooting that left 78-year-old Texas lawyer Harry Worthington hospitalized in intensive care after one of the shotgun pellets reached his heart.

"It's rare to see the President tell Dick Cheney to do anything," said a White House source Wednesday. "This time the order came down: Go public and take responsibility."

Bush's mandate came after four days of intensive White House infighting over what to do about Cheney amid mounting pressure from Republican leaders in Congress who told Bush the Vice President's silence was hurting a party that already faces an uphill battle with voters in the upcoming November mid-term elections.

But Cheney's taped appearance with softball interviewer Brit Hume did little to ease the tension. While the Vice President admitted responsibility for the shooting he also continued to claim the decision to withhold information from the public and press for some 18 hours was the right thing to do.

"We really didn't know until Sunday morning that Harry was probably going to be OK, that it looked like there hadn't been any serious damage to any vital organ," Cheney said. "And that's when we began the process of notifying the press."

What did Cheney plan to do if Whittington died? Hide the fact that he killed someone? Find a scapegoat to take responsibility for the shooting?

Cheney also admits he waited until the next day to tell the White House and didn't discuss it with Bush until two days later.

When word of the shooting finally reached the White House, communications specialist Dan Bartlett told the Veep he needed to go public quickly and admit what happened.

Cheney refused. He claimed the story was too complicated to tell the press until he and his team got all their ducks (or in this case quail) in a row.

"I've been in the business for a long time and never seen a situation quite like this," Cheney said. "We've had experiences where the president has been shot. We've never had a situation where the vice president shot somebody."

Actually, that's not true. Aaron Burr was vice president when he shot and killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel in 1804 but Cheney has never let facts get in the way of his revisionist history.

Instead, turned to Katherine Armstrong, owner of the ranch, and told her to call a friend at the Corpus Christi Caller-Times and give him the story.

"I thought that made good sense because you can get as accurate a story as possible from somebody who knew and understood hunting and then it would immediately go up to the wires and be posted on the Web site, which is the way it went out and I thought that was the right call," Cheney said.

Even though the timing is still suspect, Cheney refuses to admit he was wrong.

"The accuracy was enormously important. I had no press person with me," he said.

There may have been other reasons. He admits having "a beer" for lunch but other sources say the Vice President had more than one can of brew that day before picking up a shotgun to shoot quail and lawyers. But we don't know how drunk he may or may not have been because the always-accommodating Kennedy County, Texas, sheriff's department waited until the next day to do go the ranch and investigate the shooting. That gives anyone time to sober up.

County Sheriff Ramon Salinas III was barbecuing in his back yard with his family at 5:30 p.m. Saturday when sheriff's Capt. Charles Kirk called to report "a possible hunting accident at Armstrong Ranch."

A few minutes later, a Secret Service agent called.

"He said the reason he was calling was to officially notify the sheriff's department that the vice president was involved in that shooting accident," Salinas said.

Kirk went to the Armstrong Ranch gate but was not allowed on the property. He called Salinas to report he was there with a U.S. Border Patrol agent who didn't know what was going on.

"I told him don't worry about it. I'll make a call," Salinas said. He called another deputy who moonlights at the Armstrong ranch, said he was told it was "just an accident" and made the decision to wait until Sunday to investigate.

"We've known these people for years. They are honest and wouldn't call us, telling us a lie," Salinas said.

In Washington, they call it politics. In South Texas, it's just the "old boy" network. Either way it means justice takes a back seat to favoritism.

And, as usual, the public's right to know what's happening in our government suffers. The White House added to the damage by trying to blame the accident on the victim. Cheney, however, sees nothing wrong with hiding facts from the press.

"I had a bit of the feeling that the press corps was upset because, to some extent, it was about them -- they didn't like the idea that we called the Corpus Christi Caller-Times instead of The New York Times," he said. "But it strikes me that the Corpus Christi Caller-Times is just as valid a news outlet as The New York Times is, especially for covering a major story in south Texas."

At least Cheney finally admitted that a vice president gunning down a lawyer while hunting was a "major story" but his refusal to acknowledge that he screwed the pooch by stonewalling and hiding out until the alcohol left his bloodstream and everybody got their story straight is where the real problem lies. With the Bush administration, the word "lie" always seems to come into play.

Simpleton Says: TRY THIS 4 TRUE WORLD PEACE
2 comment(s).
Every blue moon or so a simpleton has an original idea or maybe not but one worth presentin anyways. Lets propose that world leaders truely wanted democracy, in order to change worldwide views in midstream of the game and change all the rules , a plan should not include a catastrophic event like a new pearl harbour to initiate your agenda, I think a more fair way to initiate worldwide global participation in free trade would be to initiate a worldwide strategy of opening the game with a fair start for all participants, (thats me and you folks). To me this seems like a realistic approach that should be considered for worldwide debate. With a world bank and US Fed Reserve Board who have the ability to create money out of thin air, could have a fair start day where all debts are forgiven and the world bank negotiates a settlement to all creditors who are owed money. The money could be printed by the Fed Reserve they do this everyday.People all across the world could then have suitable housing built for them and found a job that would help solve problems for everyone else with special needs like truely handicapped and people with serious medical issues. thus the cycle would continue where true compassion would be practiced not just used for political campaigns where promises are never kept. With everyone working that was able and everyone living given a clean start except for prisoners deemed truely a threat to society by a certified fair panel of psychiatrists represented by every different culture around the world. It truely would be a win win situation for everyone. Businesses would clear up old debts , people could afford to pay for legitimate government needs like responses to national and world emergencies and you know showing compassion for those when they run afoul of society and really trying to help each other instead of constantly competing to get to the top at all costs. you could still have capitolism or communism or socialism or theocracies if thet is what the people of their countries wantedm noone should have culture forced on them , but this is a proposal that might not bring world peace but it sounds like a reasonable place to start. What do you think? I have other solutions but they are pretty bizarre> haha. yall have a good day now , ya here comeon back when you see simpleton says

Hunting accidents happen most when drinking is involved. But lieing happens all the time with this crop of fuckwits.

I'm having a lot of trouble trying to understand how they can have a following.

If they ever managed to tell the truth (trama, terror, wretched vomiting)their mouths would catch on fire. And as far as I know the organ grinder drinks hard liquor. Not beer. His monkey tokes on crack, or snorts coke and also drinks hard liquor.

I've got nothing against pulling a cork. It's the grandios lieing, and sneaking around with their little game of I've got a secret you can't understand. Maybe the monkey was angry because the organ grinder has never shown him such attention, even while jerking on the chain around his neck. The monkey was left all alone to color in his coloring books, and ride his biky. Not much applause there. It's like the fuckwit having a hissy at his counterpart. Will the peter pans running this country never grow up?

Gees Doug, the morons have taken over. Where did all the adults go? To social security everyone.

DOUG:

You're Kidding Right?

Are you telling us that GEORGE W: BUSH, the GEORGE W: BUSH we all know, actually TOLD Dick Cheney what to do?

Man I am having trouble with buying that !!!

Posted by TRUTH101 at February 16, 2006 07:45 AM

for all the lies we had aswell as the secretcy from Bush and Chaney what do we expecet. Is there anybody in the world hoping for miracle.

Posted by Rolf W. Flohr at February 16, 2006 07:46 AM

ALL,

A man is shot, by the Vice-President no less, even on PRIVATE PROPERTY.
CERTAINLY, get the victim help, assistance whatever needed FIRST....and at the same time or in the next instant REPORT IT TO THE POLICE, accident or no

Here the police are not allowed to enter this "private property" because the situation is "complicated"??? Doesn't sound at all complicated to me...sounds like something that would have been obvious was trying to be hidden.
No, it didn't necessarily drinking as is being suggested, but it surly now would seem that would be way ahead of whatever might be in second place.

Everyone in this "hunting party" is complicit in what happened and what didn't happen (reporting it to the police and cooperating fully and immediately) and should be so charged IMO. That would be Cheney, The ranch hands, the Secret Service, the medic traveling with Cheney ALL OF THEM.

"I didn't have a press person with me"
is NO EXCUSE.

So finally, and I am still having huge problems getting around Doug saying that BUSH "ordered" Cheney to get the story out.

Where do they go. To the, what a joke, Fair and Balanced FOX. Good Lord.!!! That was administration mistake # ( I'll report...you decide)

SOFTBALL thrower Brit Hume (by the way whom MARTHA (who sounded on the verge of some sort of sexual fulfillment) referred to Brit hume and this happening FOX interview no less than 17 times in about a 10 minute period as the pre-taped "not live" interview with Cheney was starting...MISTAKE #____

Hume let the VP totally control the interview, not a surprise, but I wouldn't call him anything that even resembles a newsman anymore.

WHY NOT TIM RUSSERT? and WHY NOT LIVE ? That would have been an interview.

ANSWER: CONTROL, CONTROL, CONTROL

Proving once again, this administration is a very pathetic joke.

Posted by TRUTH101 at February 16, 2006 08:07 AM

It is a serious mistake to underestimate Bush's temper or willingness to order anyone around, including Cheney, especially if he had Andy Card deliver the order.

Forget the illusions you read about on the partisan web sites. Bush is capable of being the "my way or the highway" President with anyone. He is that stubborn.

Posted by Doug Thompson at February 16, 2006 08:27 AM

Hi Doug,

I have no doubt as you have reported many times about both Bush's stubborness and his temper tantrums, But where I come from, and having lived a few years (hate to say this as there are so many really good people there as well) in the south, even complete morons, largely the remainer of Bush's base, are always it seems beholden to at least one person they simply will not screw with...Somehow, they just seem to know that on the other side of the wall there are seriously terrible things that could happen to them if they did.

Cheney strikes me as that sort of person
Bush strikes me as a person who, if he knew nothing else, would know that Cheney IS the real power and has proven it so many times by very moronic behavior.

But, that said, I understand what you are saying. Some people surely are that deft and he does have a whole family tree that could fall on the VP...or thinks he does.

Posted by TRUTH101 at February 16, 2006 08:49 AM

Truth101:

There is a person in the Bush administration that the President will not screw with. His name is Karl Rove, not Dick Cheney.

Posted by Doug Thompson at February 16, 2006 08:53 AM

Excellent Rant --- right on the mark. But why the quotation marks around "accident" in the lead paragraph? It isn't an alleged accident nor is their suspicion that the shooting was done on purpose i.e. murder). It was an accident. No quotation marks. To put the word in quotation marks suggests that the writer wants the reader to question whether or not, in fact, the event was an accident -- or something more sinister. Cheney's post-accident response stands alone as a sad testament to his modus operandi without this subtle embellishment by the writer.

Posted by Larry Schmidt at February 16, 2006 09:20 AM

Is there any truth to the rumour that Lynn has been more than just a little bit upset about the Dick's relationship with Ms. Armstrong??? Could there be more to this coverup than just the shooting?

Posted by Lylene at February 16, 2006 09:40 AM

The wall is begining to crack., Yesterday on CNN's The Situation Room with Volf Blitzer (click heels) Jack Cafferty said that "Brit Hume interviewingf CHeney is like Bonnie interviewing CLyde. Over on the F-Word Network, Cheney wouldn't get a high hard one." Geuss Cafferty will now make Bill O'Reily's Enemies List for that.

Posted by Peter Chewning at February 16, 2006 09:41 AM

Larry:

I put the quotes around "accident" because if Cheney was drinking then there is a legal question of willful disregard for safety of his hunting companions and it ceases being an accident. A Texas prosecutor was quoted this morning as saying that is Whittington dies there may be a grand jury inquiry.

CHENEY'S DRINKING???

What's the truth about Cheney's drinking habits? Why was there first a tacit denial from the "hostess-spokeswoman" that alcohol had been served, and then, yesterday, Cheney's statement that he had had "one beer" at lunch? Any reporters out there with access to info? Any way of finding out?

Posted by RobinNY at February 16, 2006 10:24 AM

While the evidence points towards an intentional shooting or gross negligence and possibly drunkeness, the thing that just hit me is the thing they are trying to cover up the most and being most secretive about is who were the other members of the shooting party. Was Cheney just the fall guy?

Posted by dave at February 16, 2006 11:18 AM

DOUG;

OOPS !! With all that's going on I completely forgot about Rove. Your absolutely right. Sort of like having a rotweiler, being the owner but having a piece of raw meat the dog decides he wants.

Everyone KNOWS Rove has the keys to Bush's room. Cheney who was "self-annointed and appointed by Bush perhaps to a lesser extent but still dogs don't distinguish people when red meat is involved.

PETER:

Yeah, Bonnie interviewing Clyde. That is / was an excellent description. The only worse interviewer other than Hume IMO would have been HANNITY who would have been on his knees while conducting the interview.

Even Volf (click heels) (Vee have vays of making you talk) Blitzer would have been better but the
absolute best interviewer would have been RUSSERT.

imagine, we might have gotten another Go F...yourself from the VEEP at some point

Posted by TRUTH 101 at February 16, 2006 11:21 AM

A few other thoughts are, what does a drinking shooting spree by a VP who travels with SS and a full medical staff cost the American Taxpayer, and other than murdering thousands of small amimals for pleasure, shooting a lawyer, and advocating torture and mass murder, does the man have a violent history?

Posted by dave at February 16, 2006 11:26 AM

DAVE.

I doubt it (Cheney being the fall guy that is)

The stupid part of all of this was that it was (initially at least) supposedly Wittington's fault for not announcing his presence when returning, then showing a photo with Cheney with ear protectors on.

What amazed me is that NOBODY else in the party noticed Wittington or the bright orange vest. That would be all ten (didn't Cheney say) hunters, the secret service, NOBODY. Supposedly they were scattered around. SOMEBODY SHOULD HAVE SEEN HIM OR AT LEAST THE VEST: There is your mystery.

he fact then that it was CHENEY that turned and fired and not his partner companion certainly opens the door to all sorts of speculation. Personally, I think alcohol WAS involved. One said nobody had been drinking, then on the FAUX EXCLUSIVE last night, Cheney himself offered the typical JUST HAD ONE BEER AT LUNCH OFFICER defense !!!

The remaining base will buy that (tail) TALE of woe...but thinking rational people will be suspicious.

Posted by TRUTH 101 at February 16, 2006 11:32 AM

I am sure we will get another Go F--- Your Self, Soon. And By the way, does anyone buy that Bullshit about "I had one beer with lunch.' Those guys wereprobably pickled. The thing those guys do when hunting is pass around a bottle. That is one of the highlights of the trip. Get Drunk and shoot something.

But what do I know? I spell FOX News with a Swastika.

If this happened to a regular joe he wounld now be in jail for not calling the police. cheney obstructed justice by not calling the police and at the the very least undergoing a breathalyzer test.

This group of fuckwits is proving TRUE all childhood sayings that I have heard,

On Countdown the editor of the Texas Observer, no friend of the Bushies, stated that there's hardly ever any legal repercusions for hunting accidents that happen in Texas. (Something was said about men and their guns.) Does that mean that laws about negligence, criminal or therewise, are given a pass there?

Secondly how could a shooter hit someone in the chest and face, 4 to 5 feet above ground level, without aiming his gun very nearly parallel to the ground? Is that the usual shot when hunting quail? I recall, from my hunting experience (50 years or more ago) that quail usually fly up about 6 to 10 feet above the ground before leveling off.

I would like to see a serious ballisics analyis.

Has anyone talked with the ambulance driver, any caterers, drivers, laborers. Additionally, it is protocol to integrate local law officials in to any VP visits and travel. What did the locals know? Sounds like a lot of folk were hovering around trying to accomodate this puffed up killer. It would sure be interesting to here what they saw and heard. This story keeps on giving.

Posted by Burt in San Angelo at February 16, 2006 12:04 PM

O.K., let's admit it: more than one of us hopes, in that little part of us we don't talk about, that Whittington dies, right?

Here's why we can feel O.K. about that forbidden hope:

1. Anybody close enough to Dick Cheney to be out hunting with him has got to be a bastard, for starters, so no great loss if a lesson can be learned.

2. If he dies, Cheney will get to experience what it feels like to accidentally kill someone--an experience his policies have foisted on 18- and 19-year-old kids (and lots of grown men who are actually pretty DECENT human beings) who joined the military because they couldn't get a job in economy our Bush Crime Family has trashed.

Posted by Denise4Peace at February 16, 2006 12:14 PM

Everybody has forgotten a main point. Why was Whittington in the line of fire?
He had just bagged a Baby Quail. His dog ran out to fetch it. When time past with the dog not returning, Whittington went out to investigate. It turns out the dog couldn't locate the downed bird. (No where was the Breed mentioned)Whittington started to hunt for his prize when he was put down himself.
So, where does the real blame go? It could go on the bird. If the bird hadn't flown by when it did Whittington wouldn't have shot.
If the dog's nose wasn't full of Mucus, maybe it would have found the dead bird and not force Whittington to go help to find it.
What this means is Cheney, although he is the one that pulled the trigger, is a victim of circumstance.
I'm putting my money on the dog. I believe the dog was paid off not to find the bird. That is all he was told.
The dog received an anonymous phone call, it was told a meeting would take place at a Underground Parking lot. When the dog arrived, someone in the shadows offered it a large sum of Rawhide Strips, if it couldn't find the Third Quail, Whittington bagged. The dog agreed and the rest is history.

Kennedy County sheriff's deputies have redoubled their efforts to investigate the case after criticism of their decision not to interview witnesses until a day after the shooting. Ms. Armstrong faxed a detailed account to deputies on Wednesday at the sheriff's request. She said she would have done so sooner if she'd been asked and added that everyone at the ranch has been encouraged to "tell the truth" about the shooting.
We have just learn that this is background for Dick’s Medal of Honor.

Getting back to the cover-up (I have no doubt about that), I couldn't help but wonder what Salinas is getting out of this. “We’ve known these people for years. They are honest and wouldn’t call us, telling us a lie." We're supposed to believe this? How stupid do they think they are?

Veep Cheny says Ms. Armstrong was the one to inform the press because she witnessed the event and is an expert.
But Armstrong blamed the vic, and Cheny blamed himself. Can't have it both ways, folks.
Also: Ms. Armstrong says she first noticed Secret Service people rushing to the scene and thought the Veep had another heart attack. But if that's what she first saw, she didn't see the shooting.
Double contradictions, folks.

Linda,

You make me sick. You're like a cross between a frightened ostrich and the three monkeys in denial: Your head's deeply embedded in the sand to avoid the "evil" truth that the chimps are corrupt . Why don't you get a clue?

We all know that Bush has a binary approach to most issues, i.e., his way (after he's told what it is), or the highway, and that he has the tempemeant of a bully, but I really had to chuckle at the thought of Bush ORDERING Cheney to clean up his act. Rover may have convinced Bush that there was a PR problem that needed immediate attention, and Bush may have dispatched the trump Card to do the dirty work, but Bush personally ordering Cheney to do anything is beyond anything I can imagine. The boy-emperor couldn't possibly standup to his father figure that way.

Can 'several feet' ever mean 30 yards, even in Texas? See WaPo by way of the Daily Kos reporting on sheriff's statement: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/2/16/02930/2661

Hey Linda,
In response to your scream of pollutants written below, . . .

You liberals make me sick. You are like a dog with a bone. I can't believe that this story has been the main news story all week. You guys need a life.

All we have to say to you consists of two questions, . . . When are you going to get off the bottle feed and wake up, because the next person who could be violently attacked could be you, and who will be there to pick up your wet diaper?

Do you know what guilty people do Linda? They run and hide behind the other guilty people and scream in one loud voice, . . . “I didn’t do it, . . . I swear!”

Posted by at February 16, 2006 05:30 PM

In response to K-Man, . . . Most definately!
It is considered "Obstrcution of Justice," and "Aiding and Abetting" a crime.

If anyone tells you a crime was not committed, I'll go drinking into zombie land with Linda! She help me with my wet diaper and I'll help her with hers!

Doug --- your feedback re: quotation marks around the word "accident" and the legal aspect of the case re: drinking and willful disregard is much appreciated. Thanks for the clarification. Larry

WHY DID IT TAKE SO LONG FOR CHENEY TO REPORT HIS SHOOTING OF WHITTINGTON? PERHAPS CHENEY NEEDED TO GET "A STORY" TOGETHER.

But yet, Cheney still contradicts himself. He first tells Britt Hume on Faux 5 that he knew Whittington for about 30 years and he is a "good friend." Then when Britt Hume's gives question to Cheney, is Whittington a close friend, or friendly acquaintance, Cheney answers, "No, an acquaintance." DA! Which way is the wind flying this bird turd today?

In answer to Britt Hume's question, . . . "Mr. Vice President, how is Mr. Whittington?" "Well, the good news is he's doing very well today. I talked to him yesterday after they discovered the heart problem, but it appears now to have been pretty well resolved and the reporting today is very good."

Cheney stated this comment on 2/15/06, when doctors already released information to the public stating there is a pellet yet remaining in Whittington's heart that they are not removing. We question, . . . Does this sound as though the heart problem has been "pretty well resolved," as V.P. Cheney describes it?

Britt Hume questioned Cheney, . . . "What was he wearing?" "He was dressed in orange, he was dressed properly, but he was also . . . There was a little bit of a gully there, so he was down a little ways before land level, although I could see the upper part of his body when . . . I didn't see it at the time I shot, until after I'd fired. And the sun was directly behind him — that affected the vision, too, I'm sure."

We question, . . . When someone gets shot, don't they usually in an immediate formation, fall or tip? If so, how could Cheney clearly see Whittington "after shooting him, but not before shooting him?" If the sun affected Cheney's shooting, then why did Cheney shoot? An experienced hunter of any nature would first look to get a clear shot of the target before pulling the trigger. NONE of Cheney's explanation derives to make any sense. And why is Cheney giving his description of the shooting to Britt Hume and not to the detectives who should be investigating all witnesses and the true events of the shooting?

"But he was also" what V.P. Cheney? Oh don't bother answering. The truth won't be given away.

In regards to the remaining interview with Britt Hume and V.P. Dick Cheney, we'll leave the reading to the Bush administration. They enjoy fairytales.

Armstrong most likely denied there was any form of drinking before the shooting incident so the ranch would be eliminated from any legal liability. Armstrong also stated, that drinking may have occurred at a nearby picnic where V.P. Cheney was target shooting.

Go ahead, play the "blame game." It's a common ritual in America.

Posted by at February 16, 2006 09:12 PM

I don't understand why the sheriff's incident report didn't include diagrams that showed things like:
a) Where was Cheney?
b) Where were the other witnesses in the party including Secret Service agents?
c) Where were the birds?
d) Where were the vehicles?
e) Where was the victim?
f)What were the distances between each?
g)Where was the sun and what was it's angle?
h)What is the expected trajectory, velocity and spray of a 28 caliber gun using 7.5 guage shot calculated for the actual point of contact and for the 30 yard mark?

Whether or not drinking had taken place can't be determined now but I would like to see what the layout was. Maybe not chalk lines around the body but just a little info about angles and distances. Have you ever had an accident where everything wasn't carefully measured?

According to the Washington Post, the sheriff was at the site and was quoted as saying that it was 'several feet' from where Cheney was to where Whittington was [see post above 16feb4:28pm]. That makes a lot more sense than the reported 30 yards, given the injuries that Whittington received: the shot penetrating clothing, skin and muscle.

What the American people are lacking is a "full and open investigation." This is why there are no sensible answers to such simple questions.

Will there ever be a professional and authentic investigation? Of course not. Does anyone ever formally investigate the crime scene of an assasination? Of course not, . . . They just write it off, and hope everyone forgets about it.

Just like an assasination, . . . Does anyone actually investigate the crime scene or do they "just write it off." just sas there are no answers to

In an article written by the BBC [news], there have been chemical and germ testings done on civilians, volunteers from a pacifist church, and on veteran sailors. Some with knowledge and consent, and some without.

BRIEF EXCERPT:

The programme hears from a retired scientist whose job in 1966 was to drop light bulbs carrying BG on the New York subway. He would then measure how the simulant might spread in the event of a real attack, using a motorised vacuum devise concealed inside a suitcase.

Wally Pannier, 82, recalls: "We'd just drop light bulbs with the powdered stimulant inside.

"I think it spread pretty good because you had a natural aerosol developed every few minutes from every train that went past."

"PRETTY GOOD?" It sounds as though they were "WELL PLEASED" at the results rather than alarmed. Who knows what is in store for the "new generation?" Which is us dear loved ones.

Here is a brief excerpt from the article, . . . "Bush Has Crossed the Rubicon," written by, Paul Craig Roberts (1/16/06), . . .

-Dictatorships seldom appear full-fledged but emerge piecemeal. When Julius Caesar crossed the Rubicon with one Roman legion he broke the tradition that protected the civilian government from victorious generals and launched the transformation of the Roman Republic into the Roman Empire. Fearing that Caesar would become a king, the Senate assassinated him. From the civil wars that followed, Caesar’s grandnephew, Octavian, emerged as the first Roman emperor, Caesar Augustus.-

Who was Caesar Augustus? In part of Scripture and Roman history, . . . Caesar Augustus is the one who decreed, . . . "government taxes!" Throughout the many years following, Government took on the spirit of greed and stepped over their boundaries and claimed before the civil public, . . . give us part of your income of labor, or you will be sent to the chambers!

My fellow Americans, . . . collecting taxes on one's time in labor is not only 100% immoral, but it is also illegal and unconstitutional, and the U.S. Congress knows of this. The real problem is, . . . not all American citizens know of this. And that is the way the American government wishes to keep The Truth, . . . nice and Q-U-I-E-T!!!!! Oh yeah, . . . let's add some hush-hush secretcy to the mix. Yes my dear fellow Americans, . . . the A.G. likes The Truth to be QUIET and their commotion of destruction kept SECRET! Oh what an explosive mix!!!!! Someone please call 9-1-1-, . . . it is an EMERGENCY!

What binds Bush, Kerry; They're both members of Skull and Bones, a 172-year-old Yale secret society. Now just try getting its members to talk about it.

By Robin Abcarian.
http://www.latimes.com

In the last several months, Tim Russert of NBC's "Meet the Press," one of TV's toughest interviewers, struck out with two of his biggest "gets":

In August, he quizzed Sen. John F. Kerry, "You both were members of Skull and Bones, a secret society at Yale. What does that tell us?"
Kerry: "Not much, because it's a secret."

In February, he asked President Bush, "You were both in Skull and Bones, the secret society?"
Bush: "It's so secret we can't talk about it."

EXCERPT:

Yale University may, possibly, be withholding America's most dangerous secrets. The institution protects the interests of three "Orders," presenting Scroll and Key, Wolf's Head, and the notorious Skull and Bones as "Senior Fraternities," but former pledges of these "Tombs," particularly Skull and Bones, dominate American politics and prestigious corporations. The Constitution places the people over the government and states equally, everyone included. If they can investigate us, "we the people" need a closer analysis of future, US leaders, their dinner dates, and the companies who drop billions upon trillions into funding their schemes. Secrets between powerful organizations, namely, Skull and Bones and Scroll and Key (two prime suspects in enforcing the planet under a single government; the New World Order), deserve a mandatory investigation. Think history was an accidental phenomenon? Time to learn how to analyze an entire situation, outside of the group, for "the group" is the reason the entire race is destined to fall, but no worries; it is only the end of the world.

There is a Freemasonic phrase engraved posted at Yale University, the home of Skull and Bones secret society which reads in Pseudo-Latin language: The patriarchs handed down the bones to us to honor gods".

You can see in the back of a US one dollar note you can read in small print Latin "Novus Ordo Seclurum" New World Order.

Bushit and company is a miserable failure. There isn't a better metaphor for this administration than Cheney shooting the wrong target and then trying to spin and lie his way out of the awful drunken mistake. This is the administration that couldn't shoot straight.

Posted by K-Man at February 17, 2006 02:16 PM

Hey K-Man, there is available literature that expresses how the U.S. government officials have taken target from the skies and have murdered many, looking for just one. So what does define in regards to America's "Sharp Shooters and Drama Queens?"

There is no consolation found in those who cannot aim accurately.

Posted by at February 17, 2006 05:40 PM

The underlining facts of V.P. Cheney mishitting his target, only tells, . . . his focus of mind and aim was inaccurate. "IF" (not likely), V.P. Cheney was not in a feeble state of mind on that infamous day, he sure is now experiencing debility, but not to say by illusive drugs or drinking, but by the conscious calling of shame!
