I live in Illinois and I constantly write my Congressman and Senators in regards to supporting Rep. Conyers and his bills to censure/impeach Bush$Co, whom are democrats I might add. Apparently they think it's not in the best interest of the nation to do so. I get replies from Durbin and Obama stating such. I have yet to get the courtesy of a reply from Lane Evans. That doesn't mean I will stop writing. I find it mind boggling that the people who were elected to look after the interests of their constituents can be so indifferent about the dangerous incompetency and dereliction of the Bush Administration. Quite frankly, the prospect of George W. Bush finishing out his last term frightens me. It is getting to point where I literally wake up in fear everyday. Fear of my own government, and fear of what terrible harm will come to this great nation because of them.

President Bush, ‘Patriotism’ is defined as when, an individual makes a conscience decision of choice to be patriotic toward their fellow-countrymen at all times, and patriotic onto their government, only when they deem its members being deserving. Receiving respect is not a given right, it is an acceptable privilege.

Mr. President, you publicly stated, . . . "We will not be proven wrong." Sir, in regards to the American government being proven wrong or right, is irrelevant. Relevancy exists only in the final results to the choices that were made, through the decisions of the American government. Of which in themselves, have proven the American government to be in the wrong.

Mr. President, the time has come to publicly apologize before the American public and the entire world included. The incompetency and the high level of gross negligence that has been spewed from this administration are in the purest form, of treachery.

Hey Doug, . . . In response to the article you wrote in defense of your sources, who offer you the opportunity at times to get the news first hand, was greatly explanatory.

Throughout the end of your article, you stated that you have no partisan views when it comes to pulling up the curtain and exposing the truth. As we are not here to prejudge anyone, we have been given that style of message time and again. But when push comes to shove, loyalty has the tendency to freeze the truth in the tracks of chills, because no one dares to break the ice.

Meaning, . . . We haven't found one person of any status, of any position, of any ethnicity, of any age, who is willing to go on stage and literally pull the curtain up themselves.

Meaning, . . . We have an extensive story to share, but people are frightened to give attention to it. For some ill measure of reason, people would rather be stuck living in the horror, than be given information that could be used as preventive measure.

How can such blatant fallacies continue to work for the Republican neo-cons?

The Democrats have no plan-they're weak, they're unpatriotic, they can't keep you safe, all they want to do is raise your taxes, they are amoral, unchristian and host endless and needless give-a-way entitlements, on and on and on!

Consider the two main reasons: 1st the media and 2nd the gullibility and trustfulness of the American public.

To address the media issue: democrats have been labeled by a mass smear campaign by an undisclosed number of millionaire/billionaire's originating in the Nixon era. With the sole purpose of denigrating the word liberal. Corporate execs of the media and outlets were seduced and drawn into this propaganda blitz. Not too unlike the tactic used by Hitler's, Dr. Joseph Goebbels, Minister of Public Enlightenment. The 2004 election was ample proof that the media no longer demands only honest unbiased reporting of facts. Tough questions were not ask, there was not equal and fair time given both party's and the Republican spin about the Democrats were played and replayed by the media. Thus they (Democrats) faltered and failed. When some diligent reporters pursued truths, their efforts were countered by attacks. And some reporters even lost their jobs. There was no effort to seek out facts as reporting was controlled by media execs. And when something did uncover itself, such as troop levels in Iraq, security for captured arms and Iraqi fighters. A mention was made and quickly forgotten. It was like Karl Rove was calling the shots on what to report, how to report it, and what not to report.

To address the gullibility and trustfulness of the average American: Gullibility comes from not knowing, the Democrats should make an all out effort to educate all Americans as to their party principles. They should be clear, concise and simple. The press and media should never be the (Democratic Party's) emissary to interpret and send out a Republican agenda on the Democratic Party. Due to dirty tricks and deceitful tactics used by the Republicans, truth is often hard to decipher. In my opinion Karl Rove will stop at nothing. The media must do a better job of getting to the truth. Let both parties know political deceit and lies will be dealt with severely.

The Bush administration and Republican Party have been notorious for accepting no responsibility for any failures. Immediately they use the tactic of blaming their predecessors, usually a Democrat. If anyone stands in opposition to their direction or desires they go on an all out attack against that person or group. Not only on the issues but also total character assassination. Richard Clarke, Republican (of the CIA) was one of the earliest to experience this wrath and being a Republican and somewhat of an insider, he predicted it. As a rebuttal to the tactic of the blame game, the media should announce, they will seek transparency and will hold a bipartisan posture. The media should hold both parties fully responsible for governing and when there are issues the media should report only facts. Example of: a willingness to lie, in watching the Senate discussions on the Bush secret NSA spying program. Senator Sessions stood on the Senate floor and boldly and said; "no one objected to this (NSA) program", it is a documented fact Jay Rockefeller had concerns from the onset (this truth got almost no play from the media). The Rove spin machine has also tried craftily to water down the name of Bush's domestic spying program, to the effect: terrorist surveillance program.

And now as to: the Democrats have no plan, why don't they come to the table with a plan? The media helps further this pseudo Republican rhetoric by amplifying the falsehood that Democrats have no plan and that the Democrats are just as liable for the serious problems confronting our country. The Democrats have documented their values, credo, and what the current, incompetent and corrupt administration and Republican led congress has been guilty of doing and not doing. The media should now step-up and do-diligence and report these serious matters.

Further when Bush and his cronies get into a problem they quickly look to see what is popular and what's out there. And if it happens to be a Democratic solution they will quickly grab it and put Mr. Bush's name on it with never a backward glance to further bipartisan relations. This administration opposed the 9/11 commission and after they realized their opposition would not be tolerated they quickly agreed to it, but the president hand picked the members and took the banner as his own. The media should keep an accurate and ongoing log of all these misdeeds of the president and his administration and the Republican led congress and insure the American people know of them. The media has a major obligation here and their lack of compliance to American principles have led to tolerance of the wrongs of this administration which has created an environment of; war, corruption, deceit and one-sided power, not to mention all the domestic woes.

Tom Delay, corruption and money laundering, Ken Lay, close ties and association with the Bushes, Scooter Libby, Dick Cheney's right hand man, Bill Frist, insider trading, Karl Rove, his shenanigans go all the way back to the campaign and his bogus swift boat adds. George Bush's national guard record? The Abramoff scandal, Halliburton and the corrupt activities by them in Iraq, no-bid contracts. Duke Cunningham's flagrant thievery. Runaway deficit spending and total lack of oversight. With so much control with the extremist right, how can the media portray the Democrats as being able to impact any effect at all?

This president and his administration, along with his Republican led puppet congress have showed no true leadership skills. It has been said, a good leader is a good planner. The latest episode of Republican congress: Bush's prescription drug program. When it turns into a fiasco they simply say: start up troubles, the media plays and the public listens. Think back to Iraq, was there proper troop level upon entry? And didn't Rumsfeld quip; we want to fight this on the cheap? After victory was there an exit strategy and security for Iraq's treasures and their people? What plans for securing captured arms, which would be stolen by insurgents and used to kill American solders later? Why were there massive releases of anti-American fighters who would return to kill many American solders later? This is just to mention a few but serious, missed opportunities as a result of no plans. WHO, then has no plan? When the Right says the Democrats have no plan, isn't that like the pot calling the kettle black. If the Bush administration and all his Republican congress were operating as private enterprises, task for honesty and efficiency and reasonable return to their shareholder, they would not only be fired, they would be OILED and feathered.

How can you trust a person or a political party that never admits to a mistake, no matter how obvious or egregious? You have to wonder will they put their country and the American public at risk for political gain? "Stay on message" is the Republican Party credo. And "Stay the course" is President Bush's insistent stance. What's wrong with; circumstances have changed, our message has changed, these are the truthful facts, and the course has changed so we have changed our course to meet those changes? The media has lauded these tactics for Bush and the Republican Party, portraying them as strong and courageous and smart politics. This has weakened our country in the eyes of the world and exposed our fellow Americans.

Regardless of the situation, it is almost impossible to get a Republican Congressman or Congresswoman to criticize the White House or any other Republican. I use Tom Delay as example, also if Duke Cunningham had not tearfully blubbered all over himself with his false greedy tears in admission, caught red-handed, they would be defending him now. In more than 80% of the time they (Republican message) blame the Democrats. Heaven forbid if American would have to go to war with North Korea, Iran or China under this administration. Is there any comfort in Bush's (you're doing a good job!) Brownie's. Rumsfeld at the helm of defense of our country and Condlezza diplomatically assuring America she has our allies totally behind us? Bush's total cabinet could be questioned for competency, but never for cronyism.

It is of the utmost importance that the power-grip of this White House and Republican led congress be broken. And, honesty, efficiency, and fair opportunity for all Americans are restored along with our constitutional freedoms. The country must be united and our borders and seaports properly secured. Good jobs created. Drug traffickers and law-breakers met head on and dealt with. It is the media's responsibility to remind Americans of Kitrina, WMD's, torture and corruption and the many other failures of this administration. This is not partisan politics it is RESPONSIBILITY!

The middleclass is disappearing, we have no health care, and American jobs and technology are being shipped overseas for cheap foreign labor. Businesses, big and small are breaking the law by hiring illegals at a less that an American livable wage and the government is turning a blind eye. The entitlements the Republicans and this White House are so quick to scream about are being diluted by this illegal foreign element. The American social services are being exploited by the mass of illegals and their earnings being shipped to their country of origin. (Mostly Mexico!) It has been estimated there are more than 20 million illegals in America today, ponder, how many are terrorists, or how many are loyal to our laws and the constitution that made this environment possible? For they live comfortably and live in freedom here at the expense of the American taxpayers. What are their real contributions to America's security and economic growth measured against the cost to our country? Far too many of the illegals are criminals, many violent, such as the gang; MS13, it is nothing short of a terror group that Mr. Bush so often mentions. The only difference is their goals: instead of wanting to destroy western lifestyle for so-called religious beliefs, they want to rape, plunder and murder western lifestyle for self-gratification. Violent crime is up across our nation while drugs keep pouring into the country. (How is it possible to measure to what extent with our broken borders?) China, South America, North Korea, Iran and China are all potential threats to our very democracy. Just think of the trouble that we would be in if they decided to all band together against the US. How strong is our influence with our allies? The China syndrome of: unequal trade, borrowing from, stealing of secrets both domestic and military, building up of forces, these concerns should raise some eyebrows. With the deficit and division in America today, every American must wake up to the reality and help put our country back on track.
