A mostly liberal group's ad says  Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito made a ruling "to make it easier for corporations to discriminate" and also "voted to approve the strip search of a 10-year-old girl." As is often the case with 30-second ads, there's more to it than that.

Here We Go Again: Distorted TV Ads For Campaign 2006
With 15 months to go before election day 2006, the National Republican Senatorial Committee unleashed an attack ad in West Virginia in an attempt to soften up Democratic Senator Robert Byrd for an eventual GOP challenger. Byrd responded immediately with a TV ad of his own. Both ads contained shopworn distortions.

MoveOn.org Social Security Ad Falsely Claims Bush plan Would Cut Benefits 46 Percent
MoveOn.org launched a false TV ad in the districts of several House members, claiming through images and words that President Bush plans to cut Social Security benefits nearly in half. Showing white-haired workers lifting boxes, mopping floors, shoveling and laundering, the ad says "it won't be long before America introduces the working retirement."
